The kcc at the Abbatiale de St.Sauve, Montreuil September 2006

Alan Vincent founded Kent Chamber Choir in 1983. With some six concerts a year we bring high quality choral singing to towns and villages throughout Kent, occasionally elsewhere in the UK and abroad. Drawing on membership of forty or so singers our repertoire ranges from simple miniatures to complex music for two or more choirs. We programme all kinds of sacred music from the 15th to the 21st centuries and often include a diverse mix of secular items. We also like to perform with young musicians. Although much of what we sing is unaccompanied, a large-scale work with orchestra is a regular feature. Many of our concerts are in support of local charities. Over the years we have raised thousands of pounds for good causes such as Kent Music Bursary Fund, and have recently set up the Kath Topping Award for Vocal Studies which gives financial assistance to talented young singers.

The new recording from the KCC is now available.
My spirit sang all day: cover A new CD, containing twenty tracks and recorded over 2 days in June and September 2012 is now available for limited distribution among friends of the choir. It is the culmination of months of hard work by Alan Vincent and the choir, and shows the diversity of music for which the KCC is renowned.

The Kath Topping Award for Vocal Studies 2013.
Each year the choir awards a bursary of £500 to a promising young singer from Kent, in memory of Kath Topping, a former member of the choir who died suddenly in 2002. The award for 2012 has been shared between two very promising young singers, Tabitha Reynolds, a mezzo soprano who has a scholarship to study singing at the Royal Academy of Music, and baritone Jack Holton who has a place at the Guildhall School of music. We wish them both well at college and in their future careers.

For any singers who are interested in applying for the 2013 award:

Harry Christophers
Harry ChristophersWe are very glad to hear that Harry Christophers has been awarded the CBE in the queen's birthday honours list 2012. Harry has recently become a patron of the KCC, joining Dame Emma Kirkby, who has been a long standing patron and has performed with the choir on a number of occasions. Although Harry's musical achievements are numerous, he is perhaps best known for being the founder and director of "The Sixteen" which is gaining a great reputation for its interpretation of Renaissance, Baroque and twentieth century music.
